FREE MOBILE DISPENSARY SERVICE (FMDS)
FREE MOBILE DISPENSARY SERVICE (FMDS) has been introduced by Alipore Social Welfare Trust’s Alipore Hospital & Research Centre since July 2003. The Mobile Dispensary consists of well equipped Mobile Vehicle and Medical Officers, Nurses and other medical dispensary staffs. The Medicines Dispensed, Procedures Done, Test Performed and Consultancy Services provided to the patients were FREE OF COST by Alipore Social Welfare Trust.

FMDS was welcomed by all and there was good response in every village we served. Our first introduction of FDMS was: In first introductory phase of FMDS in 10 days, 69 villages were covered and 1933 patients diagnosed by AHRC’s Medical Officers. Then for the second FMDS Camps in 10 days, 17 villages were covered and 1242 patients were diagnosed. Till date, we have organised 5 rounds of FMDS where 5707 patients were diagnosed. We have got very overwhelming response from these villages and we plan to extend this FMDS in future as a permanent Health Awareness Programme for which we want the support of our donors.
There was frequent demand from some of the villages to provide them weekly FMDS services, which was not possible due to pre-occupation of our medical teams in various villages. Hence the Board of trustees came to a consideration to provide the following villages with FMDS every Fortnights on following days.
