Educating children profoundly affects their lives and influences the life of anyone who comes into contact with those children. Education provides a foundation for a child to base the rest of their life on. Without education, it becomes impossible for an individual to provide for themselves and their family. It was found that due to financial reasons, students are deprived from Higher Education. Also, well-educated people can make decisions that benefit both their own interests and the interests of society as a whole.]

NEED OF HIGHER EDUCATION
The western-orientated and dominated society into which we live, demand that we inculcate in our children a type of knowledge with an Islamic ethos to ensure that we are not swept with the tide. We must ensure that our children acquire fundamental knowledge, which they require in order to fulfill their natural functions as human beings. Similarly, professional knowledge is a pre-requisite in order to earn a living. Sadly, many of our children do not have this opportunity due to lack of funds. With this in mind, a Fund was launched which is called, “ASWT Scholarships”.

DEMAND FOR CAREER-BASED EDUCATION
Surveys prove that we have most of students opting for Arts and Commerce Faculty instead of Science Faculty, which is more Career-based and lucrative, in today’s world. The demand for Medical, Dental, BioChem, Engineering and Information Technology Faculties are increasing. We encourage bright and eligible students for these faculties.

EMPHASIS ON SCIENCE FACULTY
We, at Alipore Social Welfare Trust emphasised on scholarships to those needy students who deserves and are eligible to become a Doctors or want to study Para-Medical Education or have some Career-Based Profession and for that we have started talent search in and around Alipore.

GENERATIONEXT
The principal goal of education is to create a generation who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done. We want our ‘generationext’ to become professionals. Our vision is to educate at least one child in each village for job-oriented and career- based Higher Education, which will eventually help his family and in future shall give back to the community. Let us make ‘generationext’ responsible, self-reliant and self-sufficient.

CATCH THEM YOUNG AND WATCH THEM GROW (CTYWTG)
Our programme, which was started 2006-07 and was aimed at students from Standard VIII focuses on encouraging students to dream big and aim high. To hunt these talented poor but eligible students, a Committee consisting of Educationalist was formed. These Professionals are in continuous contacts with the teachers in the villages and get information regarding their studies. We want to identify poor students from our area who are eligible for IAS, IPS, IIM etc. Degree courses too.

FUNDS USED
Scholarships given are from Lillah Fund to Sayyad & Karz-e-Hasanah Students, Zakaat-Sadaqah for Poor but Eligible Students for Higher Education Purpose. We just are not giving Zakaats but also investing for the future of these poor families so that they may give back to the community.

APPEAL
Contributions towards Higher Education shall benefit the children by:

1. BRINGING LITERACY LEVEL HIGH: Higher Education shall always bring Literacy level high because the statistics in the Government Report shows huge amount of dropouts at school level.

2. MAKING FUTURE: Once the student receives Career-Based Education, the student shall get better employment opportunities and shall bring about huge difference in their living standards.

3. GIVING BACK TO THE SOCIETY: Once the student becomes self-reliant, they shall be giving back their services to the society through their work and shall even become a potential donor.

Without your support it is not possible to contribute toward scholarship and the making of a student’s future. Our humble appeal to all of you is to please contribute towards Higher Education Scholarship by fully or partly sponsoring towards Scholarship of atleast one student.

We believe that – Donation spent on Education for the poor and needy is a long term investment.

be giving back to the society and shall become self-reliant and self-sufficient. Today’s beneficiary shall become Tomorrows Donor. It should be noted that No-Donation-Drive for Scholarship Fund is undertaken in the UK and Hospital Donations from the UK are not utilised in Scholarship Fund. Scholarship Fund received to us till date is through personal appeal to our donors and are deposited in Separate Bank Account. We would like to inform you that many of our students’ scholarships are sponsored by Individual Donors.
