Alipore Hospital Project

The success at Jawahar Nursing Home was such that our inspiration, Late Ismailbhai Mayet Jawahar called all the Board Members and asked them to make a project for a Hospital Project. For this purpose, many land were chosen and after the discussion between Late Ismailbhai Mayet and other elders, it was decided to build a hospital along the National Highway No 8.

Having envisaged a big Multidisciplinary hospital, the trustees went ahead with an eye for a proper land that should be on the National highway No. 8, for the project. When you put selflessness before self, the Almighty and the Most Merciful God always to your help. A suitable land was found on the National Highway No. 8. a very kindhearted and generous person, none other than, Haji Ahmedbhai Maniyar, who needs no introduction for his contributions to the various institutions, came forward with such a land. A S W T shall always remember this kind gesture.

The plan for the proposed hospital, which would be named as ‘ALIPORE HOSPITAL’, henceforth, was finalized and approved by various Government Departments and then passed by the District Development Authority, Government of Gujarat.

It was decided that the hospital building will be a two-storeyed building (ground floor plus two floors), with a total construction in the campus of around 80,000 square feet. The proposed Alipore Hospital constructions are to be looked after by the Trustees, Architect, Mrs. Mamta S. Shah of Smit Associates of Billimora, Structural Consultant Mr. Utpal Desai from Valsad, Dr. Sanjay P. Shah and other advisors of the A S W T.

It was also decided that the Alipore Hospital shall have modern equipment and that an Ambulance service shall be introduced for the first time in the region. And in future there shall be a Mobile Medical Aid Van to facilitate patients from remote villages.

The total number of patients expected (indoor and outpatients) would be about 100 per day for the first year, with about three or four operations conducted per day. In the subsequent years, the number shall increase by 25% for indoor and outpatients.

The hospital shall have around 50 beds, with Deluxe Rooms, Semi-Deluxe Rooms, General Ward for males, General Wards for females, Operation Theaters, Recovery Rooms, Incentive Care Units, Gynecological Departments, Laboratory, X-Ray Room, Sonography Room, a prayer hall [each for male and females], a chemist, a canteen and public call booth.

Considering the lower economic status of the people in and around Alipore, the hospital will run mostly on charitable basis. The hospital would charge affordable fees for the services rendered such as, consultation fees, operations, indoor and outdoor patients fees, etc.

The maintenance of the proposed Alipore hospital would be around Rs. 650,000/- per month, including the salaries to the staffs, electricity bills, telephone bills, medicines, maintenance of instruments and equipment’s, maintenance of building.

After seeking the necessary permissions, the construction work was started with the contributions mainly from Late Haji Ismail Hassan Mayet Jawahar, who time and again inspired and motivated the Board Members for the hospital project.

ALL TREATMENT UNDER ONE ROOF
Our aim is to serve and provide good and adequate healthcare to the sick and needy patients, treating them with the best available medical facilities at this hospital by our team of medical consultants of the various departments under one roof. This we achieved by personally contacting medical consultants from nearby cities and towns, requesting and encouraging them to visit Alipore Hospital and by offering them excellent facilities and infrastructure for operations and other medical investigations in our premises. Technology and adopting frequent updated equipment just adds to the better services we could provide.

Propagating and Educating Healthcare and bringing Health Awareness was a challenge to us, as most of the public around here are either illiterate or less educated. To achieve our goal in creating a good health awareness we started a programme of Free Mobile Dispensary Services (FMDS) in which we dispatch a Team of Medical Experts to various villages and treat the inhabitants right on their doorsteps. Today, Health Department has recognised our work and have given us a well-equipped Mobile Medical Unit (MMU).

Today we provide various Medical Services at AHRC so as to enable all these services under one roof. We have a Full Time General Physician, Female Gynaecologist, General and Laparoscopic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Paediatrician, Anaesthetist, Pathologist and Physiotherapists and also Daily Dental Surgeon’s Visits. We also have qualified Housemen to look after our patients round-the-clock. We also provide Free OPD Medical Check-up / Consulting by our Medical Officers where One-Day Medicine is given at a token rate of Rs. 5/- per day.

In the years to come Alipore Hospital will continue to define benchmarks in clinical care and service excellence. We always serve the patients with due care and dignity, with state-of-the-art technology, systems and the best talent available. Our constant focus on clinical excellence and in attracting and retaining patients continues to remain the cornerstone of our utmost success.
